Find out what our student and clients say about Devon Tai Chi Centre.
Tai Chi has helped improve my posture, my strength, overall fitness, my mental attitude, and helped me stop smoking! Tai Chi makes it possible to work on a life-enhancing path tat helps overcome huge obstacles. Even though I don’t practice as much as I would like to, Tai Chi has been extremely important in my life for the last 15 years. Chen style Tai Chi is a very rewarding and ‘deep’ and powerful Tai Chi and I cannot imagine not attending classes each week.
Simon Lang - Teignmouth
I have benefitted with, greatly improved mobility all over my body, and am better able to breathe and relax. I enjoy the break from a pressured life and have made friends. In my life I have done many classes to help with increasing my mobility/fitness & stress reduction, including stretching, Alexander Technique, physio etc. I find that committing myself to this Tai Chi class has improved my physical movements, made me able to relax more and given me a nice venue to meet people away from my work and stress! I could not just do any exercises anymore as I don’t continue. Being in a class keeps me going, & this has the right balance for me, encourages me to work at it while having some fun too!
Rosemary Whitbread - Newton Abbot
Tai Chi has helped me as my sleep pattern is much better and I feel as if I have more energy. I am more able to focus on myself and tell myself I can do this, and my confidence has grown. Tai Chi has made me aware of how important it is to look after my body and how this has helped to improve my outlook on life. I feel much more focussed and seem to have more energy and strength than I have ever had. I would definitely recommend Tai Chi to family and friends.
Patricia Mitchell - Christow
I feel fitter physically and mentally for practicing Tai Chi. I am sleeping better as I am more relaxed – still along way to go on this, but I’m working on it! Over the years, I’ve been to various keep fit classes but eventually get bored with the same old routines. I really wanted to find an exercise class that I’d enjoy and would work for me. I’ve found this in Tai Chi – for me this si the perfect way to exercise, tone and relax. My daily life is very stressful as I care for a husband with dementia, and my Tai Chi classes are invaluable for my physical and mental wellbeing.
Dee Wallace - Shaldon
The classes are good fun, and I look forward to the Friday morning get together. I have been able to move a lot better and my joints are not so much of a problem. Generally I feel a lot fitter. It’s hard to part down in words how I feel since starting Tai Chi, I just know I am a lot more settled in myself and I feel much fitter. I feel the Tai Chi & Qigong exercises very calming, – it’s just great.

I suffer with Lupus and Fibromyalgia and have found so many benefits from Tai Chi & Qigong. I always come away from the class feeling refreshed mentally as well as physically, I arrive thinking I won’t be able to do very much today, but as the lesson progresses I find I am quite able, and find it so enjoyable.
